I think we all can agree that 2020 was a taxing year but for those of us who were already dealing with mental health struggles, it was rough.

As we are ready for 2021, it is important to consider a few mental health tips as we prioritize our well-being through out the whole year.

GET MORE SLEEP

Sleep 7-8 Hours Each Night
This is a healthy habit many people have to improve.
Take these simple steps to improve your sleep quality.
. Sleep and get up at the same times each day
. Allow your bed to be associated with sleep
. Set a timer on your screen time and color to prevent bright lights on your phone keeping you away from sleep.
. Instead of watching the television prior to sleep, read a book
Try meditating before bed

DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM TOXIC PEOPLE
Cut out negative people from your life once and for all. There is nothing wrong with feeling like you no longer benefit from a friendship.
Surround yourself with people who give you joy and bring out the best in you

FIND A CREATIVE OUTLET
You need a hobby to channel your energy into whether you are doing it for a reward or just to free your mind and release stress

TAKE UP MEDITATION
Start your day with some quick meditation to relax and prepare you for the day

KEEP A GRATITUDE JOURNAL
Write down the things you are grateful and thankful for. Note at least 1 a day

DRINK MORE WATER
Your physical health is connected to your mental health so for the love of all things good, drink more water to keep you hydrated all the time.

On the whole, make diet and lifestyle changes which will be beneficial to your mental health.
