And this is the reason am going to walk us through how we dress appropriately for our body shapes and types.

Last week we mentioned the different shapes we have and so we go into details today with the pear- shaped body type.

Can also be called the traingular frame and it’s determined by your body’s measurements.

Here are some characteristics that apply to the pear-shaped body

. Your hips and thighs are wider than your shoulders and bust

. You have a defined waist that’s narrow as compared to your hips

3 Tips to dress as a pear- shaped body

Before we jump into this, let’s look at how well we can balance our outfits regardless of which body types we are

  • . Balance

While your body shape is based on your bone structure, your weight is not. So use your outfits to balance your bust, waist and hips.

  • . Draw the eye

Not the eyeliner in makeup but focus the eye where you want it to go. To create curves, length or to emphasize your favorite parts of the body

  • . Think about color

Your eyes are drawn to pattern and light so chose light and bright colors instead of dark or navy.


You want to wear tops that accentuate your upper half as well as your defined waist. Look for bright and light colors. Peplum, square -necks, cowl-necks, Boat-necks are a very good place to start.
